Content
All films should be school appropriate and avoid excessive violence, language, and illegal or immoral behavior. As a guideline, keep it PG, not PG-13.

Production Materials
You can also enter materials related to a film project. Store them in google docs or dropbox, and provide a link to the file in your submission form. Page Limits are strictly enforced. These should all be submitted as .pdf files, except original song should be an .mp3 audio file.
Screenplay - OriginalA screenplay based on an original idea. This can only be submitted if it wasn't made into a film, or the film wasn't finished. Maximum 10 pages.

A screenplay based on an existing published story (book, play, etc.) This can only be submitted if it wasn't made into a film, or the film wasn't finished. Maximum 10 pages.
StoryboardsSubmit at least two pages of 6 storyboard drawings for a film. This could be for a finished or unfinished film.

Original SongA song (with lyrics) written and recorded by you that was used in a student film project. If it doesn't have lyrics, then consider the best composer category below.

Crew Positions
You can also be considered for the different aspects of filmmaking. You can nominate up to 7 positions for your film. Pick the ones you think your film shows off the best.
Hint: If you don't have really killer cinematography or editing, don't choose those. Everyone chooses those, so it's really hard to win it. But no one chooses best composer. All those slackers are too busy copying songs from youtube. So get some original music in there and you just might beat that one other kid from Salem!

DirectorThe visionary behind the project.
ActorActressSupporting ActorSupporting ActressEnsemble CastUse this if your film has lots of actors but no one lead. If you choose this, you can't also be nominated in one of the above acting categories.
CinematographerThe person responsible for lighting and camerawork.
EditorThe person responsible for editing the picture.
Sound DesignerRecords and edits dialogue and sound effects.
Art DirectorIn charge of sets and locations.

Prop DesignerFinds or creates props used in the film.
Costume DesignerFinds or creates costumes used in the film.
Hair & Makeup ArtistDesigns and applies hairstyles, makeup and prosthetics.
ComposerWrites and records original instrumental music used in the film. To win this category, the entire film must have original music, nothing prerecorded even if it is royalty free.
Visual EffectsIncludes live special effects and digital compositing. Must be combined with live action. If it's all computer generated, see the animation category.
StuntsBe awesome, but follow appropriate safety rules. Anyone putting themselves or others in danger will be disqualified.
